After lots of research I finally settled on this water bladder for my hikes out in Utah. This bladder worked great and was leak-free. It's easy to clean. I just used soap and water. No weird taste, just plain water could be tasted. The mouth piece was easy to use. I even had my dslr Nikkon camera in my bag with the bladder! This is pricey compared to other bladders but to me it is worth the money for a leak-free, no bad taste water bladder. Totally recommend for your hiking adventures!

I’m very happy with the HydraPak Contour water bladder. I love the quick release detachable hose and the handle slides on like a dream compared to my previous bladder. I’ve used it a few times already and have had no issues with it.

I used this hydrapak reservoir for my hunting trip to Wyoming. It fit perfectly in my hunting pack. The capacity was just right for a full day of water. The bite valve doesn’t leak at all. It had an odd taste when drinking water from it initially, but that subsided after drinking one full reservoir and refilling. The reservoir seems very durable and was very easy to use in my new mystery ranch metcalf 75 pack. I also appreciate that you could lock the valve shut to prevent any leaking.

I bought this as an upgrade for 2 of our Teton day/hike packs and I'm so glad I spent the extra money. I like the way this structurally stays in shape with the water and the flow nozzle is much easier to use than a bite nozzle. At least for me. I can get a lot of water in this and it fits perfectly in the bag. It was a little more expensive than I would have preferred, but I'm getting to the age where I say that about most things, so maybe that's a me problem, haha. I still highly recommend this product!

I finally decided to replace my old bladder, as I still have the pack I loved, bladder long gone.
This one checked so many boxes for fit/form and function, and I was so happy to get it! It arrived in a timely fashion and I washed it. Tried it. What is that taste? Washed it again, and again. Soap and water. Vinegar. You get the idea.
Thought I was in the clear. Packed it for camping and made a horrid discovery after getting to our remote campsite.
The bladder itself is fine, and I drank water directly out of it, the water has no issues,
but the tubing came with some horrible smell that would not wash out, and made my water taste GHASTLY of chemical plastic NASTINESS. Like did they store this next to cleaning solvents? It was seriously THAT bad
So I couldn't use it hiking, as planned. Thankfully I brought a nalgene bottle with me or my trip would have been super inconvenient. (Pulling the bladder out every time to drink from the top? After spending a premium?) No thank you.
So, sorry to have to leave a bad review for what used to be a good company.
Returning this, and don't want another.

Bought the 3L for a backpacking trip in Hawaii. Have used it multiple times for various hikes and trail runs since. Love it! I did not get the extra protective sleeve because I'm a minimalist. My backpack has a built in area for bladders, and I have not had any leak issues or anything. it's great design with a wide opening. I have not put it in the dishwasher, but it's nice to be able to flip it inside out and hang it to dry. For the price point and everything, I am really happy about my purchase!

So far so good; it doesn’t leak and is relatively easy to clean, although I have to admit that I can’t ever get these bladders totally dry so I use bottle bright twice a year.
